Experience the viral sensation of Dubai Chocolate right in your own kitchen with the superior quality of Mughe Gourmet Kadaifi! This recipe combines the delicate crunch of shredded phyllo dough with creamy pistachio and rich chocolate, creating a Middle Eastern pastry fusion that's impossible to resist. Our Kadaifi (also known as Kataifi) ensures that perfect crispy texture that makes this dessert truly special.
Yields: Approximately 2 large bars or 12 individual pieces Prep time: 30 minutes Chill time: 1-2 hours
Ingredients:
- 200g Mughe Gourmet Kadaifi (shredded phyllo dough)
- 50g unsalted butter, melted
- 340g pistachios (raw or lightly roasted, unsalted)
- 100g sugar
- 120ml olive oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 570g good quality milk or semi-sweet chocolate (for coating)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pistachio Filling: In a food processor, combine the pistachios, sugar, olive oil, vanilla extract, salt, and tahini. Blend until you get a creamy, somewhat chunky paste. Set aside.
- Crisp the Kadaifi: Melt the 50g of butter. Gently separate the strands of Mughe Gourmet Kadaifi with your hands. In a large pan over medium heat, add the melted butter and the kadaifi. Toast, stirring constantly, until the kadaifi turns golden brown and becomes very crispy. Be careful not to burn it. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Combine Kadaifi and Pistachio: Once the kadaifi is cool enough to handle, add it to the pistachio cream mixture. Mix thoroughly until the kadaifi is evenly coated and integrated into the creamy filling. This forms the signature crunchy center of your Dubai Chocolate.
- Prepare the Chocolate Molds: Melt your chosen chocolate using a double boiler or microwave (in 30-second intervals, stirring in between). If you're comfortable, temper your chocolate for a shinier finish and better snap. Line your chocolate molds (silicone bar molds work best for the authentic "Dubai Chocolate" look) with a generous layer of melted chocolate, ensuring the bottom and sides are fully coated.
- Chill the First Chocolate Layer: Place the chocolate-lined molds in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
- Fill the Molds: Spoon the kadaifi and pistachio mixture into the set chocolate molds. Press down gently to ensure it's compact and fills the mold evenly, leaving a small space at the top for the final chocolate layer.
- Seal with Chocolate: Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the kadaifi-pistachio filling, ensuring it completely covers the filling and reaches the edges of the mold. Gently tap the molds on the counter to release any air bubbles and create a smooth top surface.
- Final Chill: Return the molds to the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or until the Dubai Chocolate bars are completely set and firm.
- Unmold and Enjoy: Carefully unmold your exquisite Dubai Chocolate bars. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Enjoy this truly gourmet Middle Eastern pastry sensation, made simple and delicious with Mughe Gourmet Kadaifi!
